ATTENTION TOWERS: The Montana Motor Carriers Association asks that you closely watch for fraudulent DOT Procurement letters. It has come to the attention of MMCA that a number of carriers have received fraudulent letters on Department of Transportation letterhead asking for bank account information. The letter looks official. If you should receive such a letter, do not respond. For more information, go to DOT which has information about similar fraudulent activity.

Montana Tow Truck Association

The Montana Tow Truck Association, Ltd. (MTTA), is a nonprofit organization founded in 1978 and designed to protect and promote the welfare of those engaged in the towing and recovery business and aid in ensuring the safety of the public in Montana. Its goal is to educate members and the public, promote professional and quality towing services to provide a better image of the towing industry for the public, and unite towers working for the common good of the towing industry.

On the officers page, the officers of the association are listed and contact information is available. In the members section, you will find a list of board members and the membership listed by name and by town and a list of associate members. Our legislation section provides current information on laws, bills, and issues pertinent to the towing industry, including the current Montana Professional Tow Truck Act. The legislative committee works with MTTA's good friend and lobbyist Bob Gilbert to provide essential and timely information to the membership. And Tom Downey is available for questions and answers to your insurance needs.

Don't miss MTTA's annual tow truck convention which will be in Billings for 2008 on September 11 through 15. You'll want to check out the vendor displays and enjoy the opportunity to see old friends and meet other fellow towers.

Check the calendar section for upcoming conventions, classes, and other events. MTTA has sponsored classes for light and heavy-duty training, flagging, and hazardous materials. MTTA board members meet twelve times a year on the second Thursday of the month and offer members the opportunity to get together to address and resolve the problems of the towing industry in Montana.
